Well like u read 2 posts ago, i was up til 8am and then i woke up at 1pm... well i had a studio session with Mike Nice today at 2:30, to lay down the hook to this track i produced for him and Soul Kryziz... while i was there i ended up writtin a verse and recordin for this club track he was workin on called "Get Fucked Up"... which is right up my ave... so heres a video of his studio; Nice 1 Studios.... shout out to JayDue!

The making of "Love Letters from a Lo Bot"

so last night i headed over to my dude Dubbs house from Wax Monkey Productions to listen to sum tracks he has for his album "Ape shit for 8 bit"... shits comin along very well... he wanted my input on sum songs, and he also wanted to put a song together... well i was there til about 7:45am and didnt go to bed til 8am, and i woke up at 1pm... so im a lil tired right now

anyways heres me and him making the "Love Letters From a Lo Bot" beat... im on keyboards and hes gettin a feel for what the drums r gonna be on the drum machine!

"Ens Legis" release party recap

well tonite was the night... the homie D.Roof had his release party for "Ens Legis"... shit was a great time... it was great to finaly see people come out and support!

i was at The Grog Shop since 6pm, helpin Roof set up... we had 50 gift bags, 3 banners to hang, christmas lights, food to set up, shit was insane... shout to everyone who came... saw the homie N.Doe, i havnt seen him in like 2 yrs, Drastic, Twizted Mind, Big Lyrics, D.Bunk, Infinit, the Novelist, 6th Man, Doc Remedy, Hellah, Mr 44, Nero, Soul Kryziz, Nova, Bank, Kurzed, X the Untouchable, Jesty Beatz, Kinzer, Amotions, Napoleon, Kween and uuuuh my minds drawin a blank... but everyone that came n supported!

MJK shut it down DJing... he did his best, cuz he couldnt play any cursing, so that was a feat itself... all the performers killed it... shout to Kurzed and X for bringin me on stage to do "Good Times" ... OH and Jesty as well for callin me up for "Break it Down" ... and Roof had the set of the night... he shut it down cuz he had live drums on the set! BIG SHOUT OUT TO DANNY DOPE!! motherfucker can drum booooy... look out for out colabo comin soon!

last night Soul Kryziz, D-Mac, Nero, and myself headed to Touch to kick with my homie DJ G-Spot for his bday! I didnt get to drink cuz i was drivin but still had a good time... got alot of networking in... shout Karl and The Huston over at GoodShyt! shout to Proph the Problem, Sincere, and everyone we ran into it! and once again shout out to G-Spot! whats goooood? hope everybodys Valentines Day weekend was as good as mine... now its time to get back to work...

A couple days ago I posted how i made a Z-MIX for the group Scenic Route (Doc Remedy and Hellah)... well i sent it to a couple people and i got really good feedback... and i talked to my dude Kayo Alcatraz all the time about Z-MIX's and he loves em (check out "life support" on the player to the right) so i was doin sum thinking the other day... i really wanna drop a mixtape that are all Z-MIX's and also remixes to tracks i already produced... last night i produced a Z-MIX for Cali Miles "Hot n Heavy" song, and i think it came out dope... so ill be keepin u up to date with that project! i already got 5 tracks for it... so its movin pretty quicky for sumthin i just came up with on friday

My boy Nero will start his filming this week... hes gonna be providing me with videos of behind the scenes shit that i know yall wanna see... hes gonna be running his own thing called InnovaTV pretty soon too, so look out 4 that!

so i went down to Cinci again this weekend, just got back yesterday... i had a fun time down there this weekend! now this week its grind time with beats... i havnt made anything for a couple weeks now, cuz ive been tryna clear my head, so when i do sit down n make shit, its on a whole nouther level... and that seemed to work, cuz i already got like 5 beats runnin threw my head!

i talked to Ms Moone this weekend, and i think ima make a R&B joint for her, cuz shes hungry... and i havnt really produced an R&B record yet... ive gave beats to Cali Miles, but thats more pop than R&B... so this should be fun...

tomorrow Soul Kryziz has a recording session to knock out this mixtape cut for 216thetakeover.com and DJ G-Spots mixtape... we were supposed to record today, but Think canceled... so hopefully we can get a camera in there, and ill get the behind the scenes footage for u guys...

on feb 7th 2008 I was awarded The Hearts of Hope Award for giving back to children thru my Hip-Hop Gives Back concert back in dec 07... the concert was at the grog shop and DJ Drama came... we collected 3 big boxes filled with toys, 2 computers, and almost $2,000 in cash which we all donated to Rainbow Babies and Children!

I couldnt be prouder to win that award, and its not just my award, its also the Innovative Marketing teams award, cuz they did just as much work n planning as i did, so huuuuge shout out to Soul Kryziz, Nero, and D-Mac! i got alot of hate on the downlow for winning this award, because of jealousy and what not, and i think its was completely ridiculous... this award is for the whole hip-hip community, cuz by me winning that award, i showed the city that the hip-hop community CAN do sumthing poss.! all u see in the news is "shooting outside hip-hop club" but not this time... lets change the world!

"Pop My Trunk" (BEHIND THE SCENES)

A lot of people who dont know me ask me who ive produced for, and i always run down the list... but one name always stands out to them, because they had no idea i produced for him just cuz of who he is... and that person is Chip Tha Ripper.

well, yes its semi true... i produced a song for Peezy S Thompson that featured Chip on it... and the song was called "Pop My Trunk"... now ur prob wondering why u havnt heard this song or y i havnt promoted it b4... well heres the story...

Im pretty sure this was back in 2005... me and peezy were workin on his album, doin tracks here n there... and he came to me like "hey i just sent chip an email askin him if he wanted to do a song, and he said yeah" and i gess peezy said "ill pay u" in the note... and those couple words is what got Chip responding to the email, and he even said it too... he said sumthin about how dudes always wanna colab but dont wanna pay and that peezy was a real dude for bringin that up... so anyways like i said, this was waaaaaaaaay back in 2005... this was maybe a couple months b4 he even got his dream life deal... this was back when his "comin down kapp'n" cd with the kickdrums was supposed to be comin out... so compared to what chip is now, he wasnt really nuffin back then... so anyways, i was like "aight man, lets do it! how much is he chargin?" and peezy was like "$300" and if memory serves me correct this was at the end of that summer... and he was gettin ready to go back to school, and he just finished up his summer job and was like "its cool, ill just use the money i made from my summer job to pay it off" so i was like, aight, lets do it...

so we told chip to just come to my studio and record his verse there, cuz peezys 2 verses were already recorded... but he was like "naw, u guys need to come to my studio and do it" (mind u, we r paying him.... but ok) so we were like... yeah this is chip, hes prob got a nice place to go and shit... so we meet him deep on the eastside kinda over by VASJ highschool... and we followed him to his "studio" which was actually in a apartment complex... so me n peezy were just lookin at eachother like ... oooooook? ...so we went up in this joint n shit, n the booth was no joke a closet with a lil radio shack mic in it... and the salt just started pourin out of me, cuz im like thinkin "dude, i got a $500 mic... y r we here" so as we r knockin out the song, theres like 20 people all kickin it in the apartment n shit, n im just watchin MTV n shit...

so they finished the song and peezy paid Big Duke, and the dude who recorded it told us that he was gonna fuck with it sum more and send us the best version... so we went out to the car, and listened to it... and it sounded like shiiit, but we were like "ok, he said hes gonna fuck with it, so well be cool" i remember thinking it was a bittersweet moment

so as time and emails and texts went by, we never got a better version... we asked to get the acapellas so we could fuck with it... but no1 would respond to us "real ass dudes"

im not tellin this story to shit on anyone, im tellin this story cuz its a REAL ASS STORY... this is what really happens behind the scenes... sure we got played, and we were young and dumb, we shoulda been a whooooole lot smarter... but this is life in the music biz, even on the underground tip, u live and u learn... i gotta love it tho, we kept it movin oviously...

but anyways, here is the song... finaly being released for the 1st time... and NO i am not puttin it on the playlist cuz the quality is sooooooooo fucking booty!
